Carrier 59TP7A status code 32.2: open main pressure switch (LPS)
Status code 32.2 means the low-heat (main) pressure switch LPS is open when the control expects it closed. On the 59TP7A the LPS proves draft for low heat, the first stage of every heating cycle, so the control will not proceed to ignition while this code is present.

A code is a condition, not a diagnosis
An LPS that will not close points at the draft side: a blocked or frozen vent or intake, a flooded condensate trap or drain holding water in the collector box, a cracked or disconnected hose, an inducer not reaching speed, a restricted secondary heat exchanger, or the switch itself. A manometer reading against the switch's printed break and make points distinguishes these.

Documented for Carrier 59TP7A furnaces (all nine sizes) in installation instructions 59TP7A-01SI REV A, edition 06/23. The low-heat pressure switch is labelled COLLECTOR BOX-LPS; the high-heat (secondary) switch has its own code 31.

Safe things to look at first
- Read the full code on the control display through the door, including any minor digit (for example 33.2), and write it down.
- Look, without touching, for obvious conditions you can report: snow or ice at the vent terminations, water on the floor, a loaded filter, a condensate pump that is full or off.
- Note whether the furnace still heats at all, and how long it runs before the code returns.
- Check the vent and intake terminations for snow, ice, leaves or a nest, and the floor around the furnace for water.
- Note whether the inducer runs when the thermostat calls, and whether the code appears on every call or only sometimes.
Do not
- Do not bypass or jumper the door switch, limit switches, rollout switches or pressure switches.
- Do not open the burner compartment, disconnect tubing, or adjust the gas valve or gas pressure.
- Do not keep cycling power to force the furnace to relight; repeated resets hide the fault and can allow unburned gas to build up after ignition failures. If the code returns, stop and call.

What is the difference between codes 32.2 and 31.6?
32.2 is the main (low-heat) pressure switch LPS open; 31.6 is the secondary (high-heat) pressure switch HPS open. Both prove draft, but for different firing stages.
Why does code 32.2 appear after a heavy rain or thaw?
Water is the classic cause: a condensate drain or vent that floods backs water into the collector box, and the pressure switch port cannot see the draft it needs. The trap and drain path are checked first.
