Carrier 59TN7A status code 15: blower RPM lockouts
Major code 15 records blower-motor RPM lockouts. Minor 15.1 means the control commanded the blower but received no RPM signal; minor 15.2 means the motor started but did not reach 500 rpm during start-up. The Infinity 97 label annotates both rows as auto-resetting after three hours.

A code is a condition, not a diagnosis
The code identifies the blower feedback path, not the failed part: a failed or stalled motor, a loose harness, a control output fault, or a motor that cannot reach speed against the load. A technician checks voltage, harness, wheel and control output before naming a part.

Safe things to look at first
- Read the full code on the control display through the door, including any minor digit (for example 33.2), and write it down.
- Look, without touching, for obvious conditions you can report: snow or ice at the vent terminations, water on the floor, a loaded filter, a condensate pump that is full or off.
- Note whether the furnace still heats at all, and how long it runs before the code returns.
- Listen for whether the blower starts at all, and whether it hums, grinds or is silent.
Do not
- Do not bypass or jumper the door switch, limit switches, rollout switches or pressure switches.
- Do not open the burner compartment, disconnect tubing, or adjust the gas valve or gas pressure.
- Do not keep cycling power to force the furnace to relight; repeated resets hide the fault and can allow unburned gas to build up after ignition failures. If the code returns, stop and call.

- A technician tests the blower harness and connectors, confirms the wheel turns freely, verifies the control is commanding the motor, and reviews the fault history for which phase failed.
