Product data 59TN6B-01PD states: "All sizes are design certified in Canada." Listed on Carrier's Canadian residential site as the Infinity 96 (2026-09-07).

The Infinity 96 pairs a two-stage Comfort Heat gas system with Carrier's communicating variable-speed constant-airflow ECM blower: the motor measures and holds the airflow the control requests as filters load and dampers move, instead of running at fixed taps. Because it communicates, it is designed to run with a Carrier Infinity Control and Infinity air conditioner or heat pump as one system, with two-stage cooling, dehumidification and zoning logic handled by the communicating control.

Carrier certifies the five sizes at 96.1% to 96.7% AFUE upflow and horizontal and 95.0% downflow. The family carries Ideal Humidity System technology, Comfort Heat adaptive two-stage control, and SmartEvap coil-drain logic when paired with compatible cooling equipment. It condenses, so every installation needs plastic venting and a condensate drain.

The 59TN6B is the current-generation Infinity 96 in Carrier's Canadian line-up, sitting below the Infinity 97 and the modulating Infinity 98. It shares its marketing name with earlier Infinity 96 generations (including 59TN6A); the family code on the rating plate is what tells them apart, and documentation on this site is kept separate per generation.

Questions people ask

What makes the Infinity 96 different from the Performance 96?

The Infinity 96 is a communicating furnace with a constant-airflow ECM blower: it reports and adjusts airflow through the communicating control and integrates with Infinity cooling and zoning. The Performance 96 is non-communicating. Both are two-stage 95%+ condensing furnaces.

Can the Infinity 96 run without an Infinity Control?

Carrier's product data describes the Infinity 96 as part of a complete Infinity System with an Infinity Control and Infinity cooling equipment. Ask how the furnace will be controlled in your installation; thermostat compatibility is part of the system design.

Is the Infinity 96 still sold in Canada?

Carrier's Canadian site lists the Infinity 96 (59TN6) as a current family and the 59TN6B product data states all sizes are design certified in Canada. Availability of a specific size is confirmed with the dealer.
