59TP6B-01PD (edition 05/19) states: "All sizes are design certified in Canada." Superseded by the 59TP6C generation of the same Performance 96 marketing name.

Carrier replaced the 59TP6A with the 59TP6B in 2019, keeping the Performance 96 marketing name and moving to the V-code size designations (040V14-10 through 120V24-22) that the current 59TP6C continues. The product data certifies up to 96.5% AFUE with 95.0% downflow and horizontal on every size, and all sizes met ENERGY STAR Version 4.1 criteria at the time.

The 59TP6B uses its own control generation, which is not the InteliSense-era control of the later 59TP6C. Set-up and status codes for a 59TP6B must be read from its own manual; Carrier hosts the installation instructions (PDS926TB) and product data for reference.

For repair context: a rating plate reading 59TP6B identifies a 2019-2023-era furnace, most often seen in Lower Mainland homes with an 80,000 or 100,000 BTU/h input. Replacement controls, motors and ignitors are matched to the full model number, and this page keeps its documentation separate from the 59TP6A and 59TP6C pages.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between the 59TP6B and the 59TP6C?

Both are the two-stage Performance 96 with V-code sizes. The 59TP6C is the current InteliSense-capable generation with the 3-digit display control; the 59TP6B uses the earlier control, so its codes and set-up are documented separately.

My 59TP6B shows a status code. Which code table should I use?

Use the 59TP6B's own service label or the installation instructions (PDS926TB). Codes from the 59TP6C pages on this site apply to the C generation's control only.
