Carrier 59TP6C status code 41: blower RPM not detected
Major code 41 reports the blower motor's RPM signal path. Minor 41.1 means no RPM was detected when the blower was commanded at start-up; minor 41.2 means the RPM signal was lost while the blower was supposed to be running.

A code is a condition, not a diagnosis
Distinguishing 41.1 from 41.2 tells the technician whether the motor never started or stopped reporting mid-run. Causes include a failed motor or module, a loose or damaged harness, a control output fault, or in the case of 41.2 an intermittent connection that fails once the motor draws current. The code is not a diagnosis of the motor alone.

Documented for Carrier 59TP6C furnaces (all nine sizes) in installation instructions 59TP6C-01SI REV A, edition 06/23. The variable 25-speed ECM motor reports speed to the control; these sub-codes record gaps in that report.

Safe things to look at first
- Read the full code on the control display through the door, including any minor digit (for example 33.2), and write it down.
- Look, without touching, for obvious conditions you can report: snow or ice at the vent terminations, water on the floor, a loaded filter, a condensate pump that is full or off.
- Note whether the furnace still heats at all, and how long it runs before the code returns.
- Listen for whether the blower starts, stops mid-cycle, or never moves; report which.
- Check for water near the furnace that could have reached the motor or harness.
Do not
- Do not bypass or jumper the door switch, limit switches, rollout switches or pressure switches.
- Do not open the burner compartment, disconnect tubing, or adjust the gas valve or gas pressure.
- Do not keep cycling power to force the furnace to relight; repeated resets hide the fault and can allow unburned gas to build up after ignition failures. If the code returns, stop and call.

- A technician checks the blower harness and connectors, verifies the control's motor command, and tests the motor module before replacing parts.
- The fault history is reviewed to see whether the code tracks heating, cooling or continuous-fan operation.

Questions people ask
What is the difference between codes 41 and 15?
Both concern blower RPM, but 15.1 locks the furnace out, while the 41 sub-codes report the RPM path without the lockout wording. On the service label both belong to the same family of blower-motor diagnostics; the control records whichever condition it saw.
Can I keep using the furnace with code 41?
If the blower is not moving air, the furnace must not be run: without airflow the heat exchanger overheats and the limits stop the burner anyway. Call for service.
