A single-stage furnace at 100,000 BTU/h input burns at maximum on every heating cycle: 97,000 BTU/h of output until the thermostat is satisfied. Carrier certifies this size at 96.3% AFUE upflow and 95% downflow and horizontal, with a 1 HP blower moving 1,695 CFM in heating and up to 2,120 CFM for cooling.
The 21-inch cabinet holds five burners. An optional low-amp kit (KGAPC0101ECM) lets the furnace run on a 15 A breaker with 14 AWG wire where the default 20 A circuit is inconvenient, within the listed wire lengths.
Houses that genuinely calculate to 100,000 BTU/h are uncommon among newer Lower Mainland homes. Carrier's product data carries the standing warning against excessive oversizing, and the size is chosen from the calculation rather than from the old furnace's rating plate.

Questions people ask
Why is the upflow AFUE 96.3% on this size when smaller sizes certify at 97%?
Certified AFUE is a per-size figure. Carrier publishes 97.0% for the 060 and 080 sizes of this family and 96.3% for the 100V21–20 and 96.1% for the 120V24–22; the rating plate carries the figure for your size.
Does this furnace need a 20-amp circuit?
Carrier lists a 20 A maximum breaker with 12 AWG wire by default for this size. An optional low-amp kit allows 15 A with 14 AWG wire; the electrician confirms on site.
