Carrier 59TP7A status code 15.1: lockout - no blower rpms detected
Status code 15.1 means the control commanded the blower motor but did not receive the motor's RPM signal, and locked out. The 59TP7A's variable 25-speed ECM blower reports its speed back to the control, so a missing signal means the motor is not running, not connected, or not communicating.

A code is a condition, not a diagnosis
The code identifies the blower feedback path, not the failed part. Causes include a failed or stalled motor, a loose blower harness or connector, a control that is not energizing the motor, a seized blower wheel, or water damage to the motor. A technician checks voltage to the motor, the harness, the wheel and the control's motor output before naming a part.
Which furnaces this applies to
Documented for Carrier 59TP7A furnaces (all nine sizes) in installation instructions 59TP7A-01SI REV A, edition 06/23. It applies to the variable-speed ECM blower and is one of the codes that do not exist on Carrier models with a fixed-speed PSC blower.

Safe things to look at first
- Read the full code on the control display through the door, including any minor digit (for example 33.2), and write it down.
- Look, without touching, for obvious conditions you can report: snow or ice at the vent terminations, water on the floor, a loaded filter, a condensate pump that is full or off.
- Note whether the furnace still heats at all, and how long it runs before the code returns.
- Listen for whether the blower starts at all and whether it hums, grinds or is silent; report it.
- Check for water on the floor or around the furnace that could have reached the motor.
Do not
- Do not bypass or jumper the door switch, limit switches, rollout switches or pressure switches.
- Do not open the burner compartment, disconnect tubing, or adjust the gas valve or gas pressure.
- Do not keep cycling power to force the furnace to relight; repeated resets hide the fault and can allow unburned gas to build up after ignition failures. If the code returns, stop and call.

Can a dirty blower wheel cause code 15?
A wheel that is jammed or seized can stall the motor; ordinary dust loading slows airflow but normally trips limits, not the RPM signal. The technician confirms which condition the motor is actually in.
Is the blower motor covered by warranty?
The motor is a part, so the parts warranty applies on a registered furnace, subject to the cause. Labour is separate. Check the warranty certificate and keep service records.
