What is officially published
Carrier does not publish a public serial-number decode table for its residential furnaces in the documents hosted on its dealer literature site (checked 2026-09-07). The serial number on the rating plate does encode the build date for Carrier's internal systems, and the official product-registration lookup returns warranty status from the serial.

- Rating plate: many manufacturers print the manufacture date directly on or near the plate.

- The control's fault history and service records are dated and often reveal a service sticker trail.
